Safeguarding

If you know, hear or see something, SAY SOMETHING.”

Sycamore Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school.

Sycamore Academy is a listening school. Safeguarding is everybody’s business and we actively promote a whole school culture of openness, respect and vigilance where all learners and staff are safe. Children at Sycamore Academy will be able to talk freely to any member of staff if they are worried or concerned about something.

All staff are advised to maintain an attitude of it could happen here where safeguarding is concerned. All staff will, through training and induction, know how to recognise indicators of concern, how to respond to a disclosure from a child and how to record and report this information.
