A child may be identified as having special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) if they continue to find things difficult despite receiving good classroom teaching and targeted support.
Before a child is added to the SEND register, we will work closely with parents, gather information and try different support strategies.
There are 4 areas of SEND:
We follow a simple cycle which is outlined below. The cycle is repeated whenever needed.

Your child will usually have a Learning Plan which includes:
Learning Plans are reviewed regularly and parents are kept informed.
Some children with more complex needs may require an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) which is created in collaboration with parents, the Local Authority and external agencies.
YES. If your child makes good progress and no longer needs additional support, we will discuss this with you. Any decision will be made together with parents and based on your child’s needs and progress.
